How to be Holy

"How then can man be justified with God?" (Job 25:4).  "Lead me to the rock that is higher than I… I will trust in the covert of Thy wings" (Psalm 61:2,4).  "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding… He giveth grace unto the lowly" (Proverbs 3:5,34).  "Her sins, which are many, are forgiven… And they… began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?  And He said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace" (Luke 7:47-50). 

How can a man be justified

And cleansed from filthiness of sin? 

It was for this our Savior died

For precious souls that He would win! 

As we behold our Lord's desire,

We see the way He makes us holy:   

He leads us to the Rock that's higher

To show His grace that saves the lowly. 

This grace exceeds our understanding; 

It's higher than the stars above!   

The ransom justice was demanding

Was paid by Christ, compelled by love!

O Lord, upon this higher plane,

Our hearts rejoice and doubts now cease: 

To make us holy, You were slain;

By faith in You, we go in peace!
