Discretion vs. Delusion

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous… he will guide his affairs with discretion… his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD" (Psalm 112:4-7).  "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5,6).  "Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved… God shall send them strong delusion" (2 Thessalonians 2:10,11).

The light in darkness shall arise
When hearts are guided by discretion
That God imparts to make us wise
As we acknowledge His direction.

The one whose heart is firmly fixed
By trusting God in all his ways
Shall see the light that is not mixed
With dark delusion in his days.

The Lord will lead in every path
With light He gives that's never dim,
For He who saved our souls from wrath
Shall not forsake those trusting Him.

We thank You for discretion, Lord,
That turns us from the great delusion
Of those who willfully ignored
The truth they traded for confusion.
