"The LORD… turned the kingdom unto David" (1 Chronicles 10:14). "Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart" (Psalm 119:2). "The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for want of wisdom" (Proverbs 10:21). "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life… Keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called, which some professing have erred concerning the faith" (1 Timothy 6:12-21).
It wasn't
David's strategy
Or greater
strength that won the fight;
It was his heart
that God could see
Was seeking Him with
all his might.
The fight of
faith today is needed
Where lack of wisdom
slays the fool,
Where God's
instruction goes unheeded,
And Satan's lies
are taught in school.
The evidence for
truth is plain,
Yet oppositions
masked as science
Are cloaked with
babblings that are vain,
Demanding blind
and full compliance.
We fight the
fight of faith, O Lord,
Against the
falsehood of our day
Equipped now
with Your Spirit's sword,
The Word of truth,
which lights our way.
