Magnify the Memory

"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together... This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles" (Psalm 34:3,6).  "The memory of the Just is blessed... The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:7,22).  "Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost" (Matthew 27:50).  "He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost" (John 19:30).

O magnify the memory
Of Christ as we exalt His name!
He saw us in our poverty
And saved us from our sin and shame.

The memory of Christ our Savior
Now satisfies our hearts with rest.
He bore our curse to grant us favor;
He died that sinners might be blest.

How wondrous is the grace of Christ
Who cried in triumph, "It is finished!"
For us our Lord was sacrificed;
Let not His glory be diminished!

Lord, magnify in us Your grace,
And let Your sweet remembrance fill
Our hearts, enlarging thus the place
Of Your dominion and Your will.
