Advancing against Adversaries

“The LORD hath done great things for us… They that sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Psalm 126:3,5). “A great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries… Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.  Let all your things be done with charity…Maranatha (Gk. The Lord comes)” (1 Corinthians 16:9-14,22).

The Lord has done great things for us.
He stood against our darkest foe.
His victory was marvelous,
As Satan and his demons know.

Our adversary has three goals:
To steal, kill, and to destroy,
But those who labor now for souls
Shall sow in tears and reap in joy.

The Lord extends an open door,
And yet commands us to be wary
As we are warned to not ignore
The presence of our adversary.

We see so many open doors
With adversaries in this hour,
For Satan, like a lion, roars
And seeks those that he may devour.

Now watch!  Stand fast as faithful men!
Constrained by love for Christ, be strong!
Be sure our Lord will come again
And He’ll set right all that is wrong.

Until that day, Lord, has arrived,
We know Your promise shall not fail!
We hear Your oath and are revived:
The gates of hell shall NOT prevail!
