Obvious Omnipotence

“Ten kings… receive power as kings one hour with the beast... These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:12-14).

The climax of the battle rages;
The kings combine their best defense.
The moment comes, the fight engages:
It’s man against Omnipotence.

In just one verse, the fight is done.
They’ve made their war with Christ the Lamb.
No foe remains, not even one:
They have engaged the great I Am!

It is insanity that brings
These beast-led armies with their hordes
To fight against the King of kings,
And rage against the Lord of lords!

Omnipotence is obvious,
Yet rebels think that they can win!
We see them now surrounding us,
As blasphemy is fueled by sin.

O Lord, we see our need today
To see things from Your point of view,
To hear Your voice, to watch and pray,
And draw more closely now to You.

O Lord, for such a time as this,
We would be bolder every hour,
Persuading those who yet dismiss
Your obvious display of power.

O send us, Lord, of our salvation,
To teach them also of Your grace
That yet extends Your invitation
To find in You a Hiding Place.
