"Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation: and Thy right hand hath holden me up, and Thy gentleness hath made me great" (Psalm 18:35). "He hath done all things well: He maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak" (Mark 7:37).
The Lord has gently made us great:
He stooped to pluck our souls from hell!
He saved us from our lost estate;
Our Savior has done all things well!
The Lord has given us His shield
Protecting us from every harm,
And as we humbly to Him yield
He holds us up with His strong arm.
The Lord has made the deaf to hear;
He also made the dumb to speak.
He gently speaks to draw us near,
And hears our prayer when we are weak.
How wonderful and well we see
Your work, O Lord, in us is done!
How rightly for eternity
Your praise ascends that's now begun!
