"Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in Thy Word… All Thy commandments are truth" (Psalm 119:148,151). "The name of the LORD is a strong tower… The ear of the wise seeketh knowledge… Death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:10,15,21). "Then said Isaiah… Hear the Word of the LORD of hosts" (Isaiah 39:5). "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!" (Romans 11:33).
How
marvelous the nights became,
Providing
time for meditation,
When
I first called upon the name
Of
Christ, who showed me His salvation!
How
precious is the silent hour
Of
meditation on His Word!
His
name is like a mighty tower
To
hearts that heed what they have heard.
God's
Word addresses old and young
With
truth about eternity:
Both
death and life are in the tongue
That
holds the truth that makes us free!
Your
Word is marvelous, O Lord,
With
proof that leaves no room for doubt;
Our
meditation has explored
Your
ways which are past finding out!
