Hidden from Hypocrisy

"Thy Word is settled in heaven" (Psalm 119:89).  "An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered" (Proverbs 11:9).  "A Man shall be as an Hiding Place… as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land… For the vile person will… practice hypocrisy… to make empty the soul of the hungry… The work of righteousness shall be peace… and assurance forever" (Isaiah 32:2,6,17).  "What He [God] had promised, He was able also to perform… for our justification" (Romans 4:21,25).

God's Word is now settled forever
In heaven, as sure as His throne.
The hypocrite, though he be clever,
Can't change what the Lord has made known!

The hypocrite puts on a show,
Destroying his neighbor with error,
But God, by His Word, will bestow
A Refuge that hides us from terror.

Hypocrisy boasts very much,
Then breaks every oath that is spoken.
The Lord is our Shelter from such;
His promises never are broken.

You've hidden us, Lord, from the storm
Hypocrisy's error has stirred:
We see that You always perform
Your promises found in Your Word!
