"O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day" (Psalm 119:97). "To the counselors of peace is joy" (Proverbs 12:20). "Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is His treasure… Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge My might.… Thine eyes shall see the King in His beauty" (Isaiah 33:6,13,17). "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
How
rightly we should stand in awe,
Astonished
in our meditation,
At
Christ, who satisfied His law
When
He accomplished our salvation!
We
are His counselors of peace
Who
bring glad tidings in our day,
So
that His mercy may increase
In
those who trust Him, while they may.
Behold
the King in all His beauty,
God's
spotless Lamb, His Holy One!
It
is our highest joy and duty
To
now declare what He has done!
While
meditating on Your might
And
on Your wondrous love, O Lord,
Majestic
beauty fills our sight
As
You are gratefully adored!
