Resurrection Reflected

"He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant… He made him lord of his house… He sent Moses his servant… and they rebelled not against his word" (Psalm 105:17-28).  "And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God… made him governor over… all his house… Then said the Lord to [Moses]… I will send thee… This Moses whom they refused… did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer… I see… the Son of man standing on the right hand of God" (Acts 7:9,10,33-35,56).

The Lord portrayed the resurrection
And exaltation of our Savior
When Joseph suffered his rejection,
But God then raised him up with favor.

Through Moses also we discern
How he was by his own expelled,
But God then sent him to return,
And none against his word rebelled.

When Stephen the evangelist
Expounded on these two God sent,
He showed how sinners still resist
The Lord when they will not repent.

How clearly, Lord, these types display
Your resurrection thus reflected,
Portraying, too, the coming day
When You return, now soon expected!
