Walking Wisely

"The LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before Me, and be thou perfect" (Genesis 17:1).  "I have seen an end of all perfection: but Thy commandment is exceeding broad" (Psalm 119:96).  "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility" (Proverbs 15:33).  "Like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:4).

When God Almighty had appeared
To Abram with whom He would talk,
He knew that Abram rightly feared
The Lord who would perfect his walk.

It's wise to hear Almighty God
And walk before Him every day.
His wisdom is exceeding broad,
Perfecting us as we obey.

The fear of God instructs the heart
To humbly walk before His face
And from all evil to depart
As we depend upon His grace.

O Lord, our triumph over strife
Is modeled in Your resurrection:
We walk in newness of Your life
When wisely led by Your direction.

Beautiful is the Lord God;
Today He finds us in Christ,
Glorious is your presence,God;
Healing thy servants of sin, eternally in Him.

Hedge about this brother in Christ,
he and all his family,
in your eternal grace
in His name, with thanksgiving.
