Territory without Terror

"All the borders round about, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth (Heb. terror חֵת Cheth), before all that went in at the gate of his city" (Genesis 23:17,18).  "Thy Word is very pure... The righteousness of Thy testimonies is everlasting" (Psalm 119:144).  "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD" (Proverbs 21:30).  "Be ye transformed... that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2).

The borders round about the land
To bury Sarah at her death
Were then made sure to always stand
Before the children born of Heth.

A testimony without error,
Which henceforth Heth could not annul
(In view of this: his name means "terror"),
Depicts God's promise to our soul.

God's everlasting oath is made,
And every word of God is pure.
We have no cause to be afraid:
Salvation's borders are made sure!

O Lord, how perfect is Your will
That robbed the terror from the grave
And proves death's territory still
Cannot defeat the souls You save!
