"God will provide Himself a Lamb for a burnt offering... In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen" (Genesis 22:8-14). "The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalm 119:130). "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them" (Proverbs 20:12). "As it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear” (Romans 11:8).
Our God provided His own Lamb;
Upon Golgotha it was seen.
The Lord of hosts, the great I AM,
Was there for us to intervene.
The Word of God has given light
To ears that hear and eyes that see,
With truth enlightening the sight
In hearts with true humility.
When stubbornness and pride prevail,
The Lord withholds illumination
In hearts with eyes and ears that fail
To see the need of His salvation.
O Lord, we marvel at the mount,
The spring of all Your saving favor,
For there we see You as the Fount
Upon the cross to be our Savior!
