"Look now toward heaven, and tell (declare סָפַר saw-far') the stars, if (since אִם eem) thou be able to number (declare סָפַר saw-far') them: and He said unto him, So shall thy Seed be" (Genesis 15:5). "Give me understanding" (Psalm 119:73). "Good understanding giveth favor" (Proverbs 13:15). "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness... So shall thy Seed be" (Romans 4:3,18). "He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of One, And to thy Seed, which is Christ" (Galatians 3:16).
We see the Seed of Abraham
Declared by star names that God gave
Which told the story of the Lamb,
The Christ, who yet would come to save.
It was to Christ that God referred,
When He brought Abraham abroad.
"So shall thy Seed be," was His Word;
He understood, believing God.
Should not we understand as well
That Abraham then knew the names
Of every star that would foretell
The truth of Christ His Word proclaims?
O Lord, we stand in awe of You!
The stars and Scriptures both declare
The Gospel that we know is true,
Which we, like stars, are called to share.
