Clinging to His Cleansing

"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?  By taking heed thereto according to Thy Word... Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee" (Psalm 119:9,11).  "Depart not from the words of My mouth... lest thou give... thy years unto the cruel" (Proverbs 5:7,9).  "Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him" (Genesis 7:5).  "And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men" (Acts 24:16).

The Word of God will meet our need
For deeply cleansing us within
If we will hide and will take heed
To God's command to flee from sin.

The Lord who ponders every heart
And sees the danger of seduction,
Has therefore said to not depart
From His commandment and instruction.

As Noah, in those days so dark,
Was heeding all the Lord declared,
The Lord preserved him in the ark,
And with his family, he was spared.

We're clinging to Your cleansing, Lord,
To cleanse our conscience from offense,
That You extend as Your reward,
Provided by Your strong defense.
