Riches of our Ransom

"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee" (Psalm 55:22).  "The ransom of a man's life are his riches... A faithful ambassador is health" (Proverbs 13:8,17).  "How shall we escape?" (Isaiah 20:6).  "Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us" (1 Corinthians 5:7).

Now cast your burden on the Lord,

The Lamb of God for sinners slain,

Who paid what we could not afford

To ransom those He would sustain. 

Now rise up, His ambassadors! 

Declare His great salvation's wealth!

Proclaim the blessings which He pours

On sinners by His saving health! 

Persuade those facing endless loss

To run to Christ while yet they may

And find their refuge in His cross,

Escaping judgment's coming day. 

We thank You for the ransom paid,

O Lord, our great Passover Lamb! 

We see the great Reward displayed

Which You had promised Abraham.

The riches of our ransom found  

Are all in You, O Christ our Savior!

The wealth of grace and truth abound

From You, the Source of heaven's favor.
