Work, Walk, Worship, Witness

"I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me... And they said, Let us rise up and build.  So they strengthened their hands for this good work" (Nehemiah 2:18).  "The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from Thy law" (Psalm 119:51).  "Walk in the way of good men" (Proverbs 2:20).   "This is My beloved Son: hear Him.  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves" (Mark 9:7,8).

There is a work to be completed
As we are strengthened by God's hand.
Though foes may say we are defeated,
We rise and build by God's command.

The proud may have us in derision,
But God will bless, though they deride.
As Christ our Savior fills our vision,
We will not heed the voice of pride.

There is a way where we may walk
In fellowship with godly men
Who honor Christ and often talk
Of when He shall return again.

There is a joyful adoration
We share with those who love our Lord,
As in our Lord's transfiguration,
When vain distractions were ignored.

O Lord, as we recall the voice
That spoke of You from heaven's cloud,
With Your disciples we rejoice
To hear You as our hearts are bowed.

We see within the bread and cup
Your sacrifice for us fulfilled,
And thereby, Lord, You raise us up
With strengthened hearts an hands to build.

Lord, as we turn our eyes to You
We find our strength to run this race,
To work, to walk, to worship too,
And witness of Your saving grace.
