Momentary Madness

"The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalm 119:130).  "The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit... The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment" (Proverbs 12:5,19).  "All flesh shall see the salvation of God... Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" (Luke 3:6,7).

The entrance of God's Word gives light,
Yet many hate the light of God,
Preferring thoughts that are not right
And choosing counsels that are flawed.

Yet this is momentary madness,
For truth shall triumph over lies.
In Christ we have eternal gladness
With counsels ever true and wise.

When time has seen its final day,
Then swallowed by eternity,
What shall the mournful sinners say
Who mocked when they were warned to flee?

God's evidence is surely plain;
His Word gives light upon our path.
Deception renders those insane
Who yet refuse to flee from wrath.

O Lord, we thank You for Your Word,
Our light in darkness which has shined,
Exposing lies which we have heard
By which the blind yet lead the blind.

We've heard, O Lord, the scornful voice
Of  those who mock the truth they hate.
It is a momentary choice,
For soon their lies evaporate.

Lord, thank You for Your revelation,
Which madness never shall delete!
We pray that those who need salvation
Will be delivered from deceit.
