Kiss the King

"The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.... Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him" (Psalm 2:2,3,12).

The offer stands to kiss the Son,
To worship Christ, and so begin
To celebrate what He has done,
Who by Himself has purged our sin.

How blest are those who put their trust
In Jesus Christ, who reigns above!
How strange it is that some will thrust
His cords away of saving love!

There is but one alternative
To Christ's redemptive, saving path:
For all who choose the Son shall live,
But those who won't have chosen wrath.

O Lord, our King, receive our kiss
With love because You loved us first!
What wondrous love we see in this:
That for our blessing, You were cursed!
