Fountain Forsaken

"With the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption" (Psalm 130:7). "Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water" (Jeremiah 2:12,13).

A Fountain is flowing toward every nation
With mercy and plenteous redemption for all.
The Lord is that Fountain, yet He is forsaken
By many refusing His merciful call!

The heavens behold with astonished dismay
At those who choose cisterns so broken and dry:
Rejecting the Fountain of life on display,
They spurn living waters that God would supply!

O Lord, we give thanks for the mercy You've shown
Providing Your waters of life for our thirst.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is that Fountain alone
Where blessing yet flows in a land that is cursed.
