"Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Thy law graciously.... I will run the way of Thy commandments, when Thou shalt enlarge my heart" (Psalm 119:29,32). "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool, but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered" (Proverbs 28:26).
The one who's trusting in his heart,
The Scripture calls a fool.
The wise will from that way depart,
Delivered by God's rule.
How graciously the Lord reproves
Our hearts by testifying,
As by His Word He thus removes
From us the way of lying.
Walking wisely thus requires
A heart God will enlarge
To purify our heart's desires,
Since He has taken charge.
Complete in us this work begun,
And grant us, Lord, Your way.
Enlarge our hearts to thereby run
Obediently today.
