"Let them curse, but bless Thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let Thy servant rejoice" (Psalm 109:28).
O how much better it is to be blest
By God who still reigns on His throne,
Than having esteem from the brightest and best,
Whose foolishness God has made known!
So let sinners curse till they're blue in the face;
God's blessing shall brush them aside.
We need only know that we're saved by His grace
And that in His will we abide.
Though sinners arise, they will soon be ashamed
When all of God's servants rejoice.
Then shall the cursing that sinners proclaimed
Be seen as just powerless noise.
