End and Expectation

"Be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off" (Proverbs 23:17,18). "Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 10:32,33).

There is an end not far ahead
That comes with expectation.
Shall not the words our Lord once said
Provoke examination?

For every soul shall give account
Of things they've said and done.
To what then shall men's praise amount
When we shall face God's Son?

All those who in this world confessed
Our Savior before men
Shall hear their names that He'll attest
Before the Father then.

But those who won't confess the name
Of Christ whom they deny,
Shall then lament their choice with shame
Forever when they die.

There is an end with expectation
For all who will confess
And trust the Lord for their salvation,
Whom God will surely bless.
