"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).
He who wins a soul is wise;
There is no greater treasure.
The soul has value in God's eyes
That's infinite in measure.
For Christ displayed the soul's great worth
By dying on the cross.
He came from heaven down to earth
To ransom souls from loss.
In view of souls that would have perished,
The cross is God's display
Of just how much our souls are cherished
By how much He would pay.
The worth of souls is thus declared
By what our God would do;
So how then is their worth compared
For our own point of view?
Fill us, Lord, with Your own love
And with Your estimation
For souls that brought You from above
To purchase our salvation!
