The Call to Come

"The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.... He which testifieth these things saith, Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22:17,20).

There is a universal call
With urgency to come;
The invitation is to all,
Not limited to some.

Come, the Spirit says today;
The bride of Christ as well,
Which is His church, is heard to say,
Come; now flee from hell!

For how shall we escape from wrath
If we refuse to heed
The call of God to choose His path
In Christ who met our need?

The call to whosoever will
Invites the best and worst
To come for cleansing and to fill,
Through Christ, their inner thirst.

Come! His living waters flow
For all to freely drink!
Come, and His salvation KNOW,
Not merely hope or think.

And now the call turns heavenward:
Lord Jesus, come! Amen!
Until His shout above is heard
We'll pray this prayer again.
