Grateful at the Gates

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name" (Psalm 100:4). "And the twelves gates were twelve pearls; every gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was of pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it" (Revelation 21:3,21,22).

There was a day we entered in
The gates of God's salvation
And lost the burden of our sin
With all its condemnation!

His love continues to amaze
And thrill each grateful soul,
As in His courts we lift our praise
For grace that made us whole.

For in His courts are sacrificed
The offerings that displayed
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Upon the cross portrayed.

Another set of gates we see
In heaven that are pearled.
We enter these eternally
When we shall leave this world.

There is no temple seen therein,
For Christ is in its place,
Who by Himself has purged our sin
And saved us by His grace.

Thank You, Lord, for wondrous love
And for Your Word that states
That we shall dwell with You above
Within those pearly gates!
