You not Yours

"I am ready to come to you, and I will not be burdensome to you, for I seek not yours but you.... And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you" (2 Corinthians 12:14,15).

What a Savior came to me,
Seeking me, not what I had,
Who spent Himself on Calvary,
For the joy that made Him glad!

We see in Paul this faint reflection
Of our Savior's attitude,
Yet in Christ we see perfection
In its fullest magnitude.

Thank You, Lord, for selfless love
That faithfully continues now,
And draws me to Your throne above
For daily mercies You endow.

For Your mercies, Lord, I come
That You may make me more like You.
Let me shine Your love to some,
That they may see Your mercies too.
