Willing Warriors

"Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves... Then was war in the gates.... My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the Lord" (Judges 5:1,8,9). "For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to battle?" (1 Corinthians 14:8).

Our warfare is a fact of life;
We face it everyday,
For though we do not ask for strife,
It does not go away.

The only choices left to us
Are seen as "either/or":
We're either a victorious
Or fallen warrior.

The warfare does not ever cease
Upon this battlefield;
Satanic forces will increase
On any ground we yield!

Now blow the trumpet in the air:
The battle now is here!
For who shall otherwise prepare
Unless that sound is clear?

Behold, our Captain leads the way:
Lift up your eyes and see
Those dark dominions in array
From Christ our Lord must flee!

Put on the helmet! Raise the sword!
Be offered willingly!
Willing soldiers: Praise the Lord!
To God the glory be!
