"All things were created by Him (Christ), and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the Head of the body, the church: Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence" (Colossians 1:16-18).
Before there was time,
Any matter, or space,
Our Savior sublime
Was enthroned in His place.
He is the Creator
Of things near and far,
Eternally greater
Than all things that are.
For by Him the earth
And the heavens exist,
Which herald His worth
By Whom they consist.
And He is the Head
Of each one He will save,
Firstborn from the dead,
Who has conquered the grave.
Lord, reign in my heart,
As You purge its pretense!
Invade every part;
Have the preeminence!
