"Behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation, lowly, and riding upon an ass, upon a colt the foal of an ass.... Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope.... For how great is His goodness, and how great is His beauty!" (Zechariah 9:9,12,17).
How great is the goodness of Jesus our King!
How great is His beauty Who came meek and lowly!
How great His salvation He came down to bring,
That sinners, once hopeless, by grace are made holy!
How great is the distance that Jesus Christ came,
Descending to earth from eternity's throne!
How great is His mercy that purges our shame,
That holds us in love and that calls us His own!
How great was His ransom for captives set free,
Purchased by blood that is precious and pure.
How great is the strong hold to which we now flee:
Our refuge in Christ shall forever endure!
