"As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity" (Psalm 125:5). The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever He will.... The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness" (Proverbs 21:1,12).
As rivers of water are channeled and turned,
So are the hearts of the kings.
This is the lesson of history learned
By the judgment the hand of God brings.
Good kings and bad kings, submissive or not,
Shall all have their part in God's plan.
The wise will consider what God's hand has wrought,
And trust in the Lord and not man.
Pray that the righteous may reign in our land!
Yet if they do not, surely know
That God still turns hearts by His sovereign hand,
And the wicked He shall overthrow.
