"Then Job answered and said...How should man be just with God?" (Job 9:1,2).
How can a man become justified
With the God who is perfectly just?
This is the question for which our Lord died,
And this is the reason we trust.
For God in His holiness cannot deny
The judgment for sin we are due.
But God found a way that will yet justify
Poor sinners like me and like you.
How can a man draw near to God's throne,
Where justice is uncompromised?
We're hiding in holiness, but not our own,
But that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
