Reckoned as Righteous

"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and pure heart, who hath not lifted up His soul unto vanity. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation" (Psalm 24:2-5). "The righteousness of God without the law is manifested... even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:21-23).

Who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord?
Or who shall be standing in His holy place?
Only the ones who receive the reward
Of righteousness God is giving by grace.

Jesus procured our righteousness thus:
By offering Himself as our Sacrifice.
Thus He received it and gave it to us;
No other ransom will ever suffice.

Religion must fail because it demands
The righteousness we ourselves cannot give:
A right soul, a pure heart, and clean holy hands,
In no way describes how we truly live.

But Jesus ascended as God's spotless Lamb,
Fulfilling those standards just mentioned above.
It boggles my mind when I think how I am
Thus reckoned as righteous by faith in His love!
