Thoughtfully Thankful

"Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves;  we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name" (Psalm 100:3,4).  "Hell and destruction are before the LORD" (Proverbs 15:11).  "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

The Lord is God; there is none greater;
We are His sheep who went astray,
And though He is our great Creator,
He died to take our sin away.

Be thankful therefore in His gates
And in His courts consider well
Each type therein that illustrates
Our Lord who rescued us from hell.

Destruction waited for us then;
And hell would be our destination,
Unless Christ died for sinful men
And gave Himself for our salvation.

O Lord, as we have thoughtfully
Beheld the sacrifices slain,
We're thankful as we thereby see
The rich redemption we obtain!
