"They have rewarded Me evil for good, and hatred for My love... let them cover themselves with their own confusion" (Psalm 109:5,29). "Because they knew Him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets... have fulfilled them in condemning Him... Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets: Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you" (Acts 13:27,40,41).
Our Savior who came from above
Received such an evil reward:
For all of His goodness and love
They hatefully treated our Lord.
How could there be so great confusion,
In spite of the Scriptures then read,
Condemning Him by their conclusion,
Fulfilling what prophets had said?
How rightly Paul said to beware
And pleaded with those whom he warned,
For that which the Scriptures declare
May yet with confusion be scorned!
O Lord, what confusion has covered
The lost who continue to spurn
The Gospel that would be discovered
If only they humbly would turn!
