Dealing with Darkness

"The LORD hath made known His salvation: His righteousness hath He openly showed in the sight of the heathen" (Psalm 98:2).  "The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out... Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge" (Proverbs 13:9,16).  "Behold, I will bring forth My Servant the BRANCH... and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day" (Zechariah 3:8,9).  "Jesus of Nazareth... God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death" (Acts 2:22-24).

How brightly has our Savior shined
To thus remove uncertainty!
How clearly is the truth defined,
For God has shown it openly!

The Lord has dealt with darkness well,
Dispelling every honest doubt.
Deception still deludes from hell,
But soon that lamp shall be put out.

Behold, the BRANCH, as prophesied,
Removed our sin in just one day
When He for us was crucified
To purge iniquity away.

Lord, since You're risen from the grave,
The darkness with which we are dealing
Is vanquished in the souls You save
And in the hearts that You are healing.
