“Surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18).
There is an end that is defined
For every soul that trusts in Christ.
There is a comfort for the mind
For whom the Lord was sacrificed.
We see that end with expectation,
Which God has surely guaranteed:
It is the promise of salvation,
The truth that makes us free indeed.
Our expectation is not frail,
As if it leaned on human aid.
We trust the God who cannot fail
Who shall fulfill His promise made.
O Lord, we rest on what is sure:
Your faithfulness is on display.
We know Your promise shall endure,
Though fleeting things shall pass away.
