"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow" (Isaiah 1:18). "So shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.... For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us.... Wherefore comfort yourselves" (1 Thessalonians 4:17,18, 5:9-11).
How great is our reason for comfort in Christ,
For God has declared it is so,
Who died in our place as the Lamb sacrificed
And washes us whiter than snow!
And therefore we comfort each other today,
While led by our Lord on His path,
For though we like sheep had been going astray,
We now are delivered from wrath!
We thank You, dear Lord, for the comfort You give,
Assuring our souls it is well.
Because You are living we also shall live
And with You forever shall dwell.
