Lies of the Lost

"The wicked… go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies…  they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear, which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely" (Psalm 58:3-5).  "A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself" (Proverbs 18:2).  "They say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth" (Ezekiel 8:12).  "This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish… there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:15,16).

The wicked will not be persuaded
To turn away from speaking lies
Which they have foolishly paraded
As they profess that they are wise.

Like deafened serpents never charmed,
They will not hear the Savior's warning
As many by their lies are harmed
Who hear and emulate their scorning.

They think the earth has been forsaken,
Imagining there's no Creator,
But they shall know they were mistaken
When they appear before Him later!

You've heard the lies, Lord, of the lost,
Confused by their imagination.
We plead with souls to count the cost
And hear the truth of Your salvation.
