"We have thought of Thy lovingkindness, O God… This God is our God forever and ever: He will be our Guide even unto death" (Psalm 48:9,14). "From everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was… My delights were with the sons of men" (Proverbs 8:23,31). "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not… They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22,23). "We have as an anchor of the soul… within the veil… the Forerunner… even Jesus" (Hebrews 6:19,20).
The
lovingkindness of our Savior
Has
overwhelmed our meditation
As
we have thought upon His favor
And
what He did for our salvation!
From
everlasting, before time,
He
set His heart upon us then.
What
heights we are allowed to climb
To
see His love for sinful men!
His
great compassions never fail;
Each
morning we have found them new.
Our
anchor holds within the veil
Where
our Forerunner is in view.
As
our Forerunner, Lord, You ran
With
faithfulness to save the lost.
You
have fulfilled salvation's plan;
You
satisfied redemption's cost!
