Pleasantly Penned

"He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength… which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number" (Job 9:4,10).  "My tongue is the pen of a ready writer… Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever… forget also thine own people, and thy father's house… for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him" (Psalm 45:1,6,10,11).  "The words of the pure are pleasant words " (Proverbs 15:26).  "Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me" (Mark 8:34).

How wise is the heart of our Lord!
How great is the strength of His might!
His works, which we've scarcely explored,
Now stir us to worship and write.

The throne of our God is forever;
Our kinships on earth are for time,
Yet no circumstances can sever
Our souls from His love so sublime.

How graciously Jesus inspires
Our hearts to behold Him above,
Eclipsing all other desires
Diminished in view of His love!

How pleasantly penned is Your call
That rescues our souls from such loss,
O Lord, to surrender our all
And follow You, taking our cross.
