"From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised" (Psalm 113:3). "He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame" (Proverbs 10:5). "The whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart" (Jeremiah 12:11). "I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things" (1 Timothy 5:21 ).
The
harvest is waiting for hearts
Who
answer the call of our God
And
go with the strength He imparts
At
home or in fields abroad.
The
Lord stirs our hearts to be wise,
Redeeming
the time, day and night.
He
calls us to lift up our eyes
And
look on the fields now white.
Awake
for the cause of His name,
Now
laying to heart His command!
To
sleep in the harvest is shame
In
view of our desolate land!
O
Lord, though the harvest is large
And
workers around us be few,
Our
hearts have been stirred by Your charge
To
show that Your Gospel is true!
