"Josiah... said unto the Levites...sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD"(2 Chronicles 35:1-6). "Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in His commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed" (Psalm 112:1,2). "The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him" (Proverbs 20:7). "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35).
Josiah
was a faithful king
Of
great integrity of heart.
So
by his life the Lord would bring
The
blessings that He would impart.
How
blest is the inheritance
Of
every man who fears the Lord,
Delighting
in each circumstance
In
which our Savior is adored.
The
Word of God is his delight
By
which he orders his behavior;
He
meditates both day and night
In
the commandments of his Savior.
His
seed is mighty in the earth
Among
those who are born again
Who
thus are led to second birth
Through
Christ, the Savior of all men.
He
walks in his integrity
Before
the Lord in all his ways,
And
they are blest eternally
Whom
he has taught to give God praise.
He
is directed by God's Word
Which
guides his feet and lights his path.
He
studies, and his heart is stirred
To
warn the lost of coming wrath.
Lord,
though the heavens pass away,
And
earth shall be dissolved as well,
Your
words remain, so we will pray
And
warn the lost to flee from hell.
Lord,
thank You for Your words so treasured
Which
we inherit by Your grace,
By
which integrity is measured,
Through
which we also seek Your face.
