Enemy's Tumult vs. Eternal Truth

"Arise, O God, plead Thine own cause... the tumult of those that rise up against Thee increaseth continually" (Psalm 74:22,23).  "The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit... The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise... The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment" (Proverbs 12:5,15,19).

The Lord our God shall yet arise
And plead His own eternal cause.
When every fleeting falsehood dies,
The truth of God shall never pause.

The tumult of the enemy
We see deceptively increase,
But truth stands for eternity,
And in a moment, lies will cease.

For now it seems the time is long
In which the lies of Satan spread,
As fools declare that right is wrong
And scoff at what the Lord has said.

All those who heed the Lord's report
Will trust the counsel God commends.
The tumult of God's foe is short;
The truth, in contrast, never ends.

The lip of truth shall be forever,
But every lie shall God expose,
Like guards who saw their vain endeavor
When on the third day Jesus rose.

O Lord, we thank You for Your light
Exposing falsehood we have heard
And clearly showing what is right
By the instruction from Your Word.

Lord, lead us forth now to engage
The tumult of the foe's deceit!
Eternal truth from Scripture's page
Assures the enemy's defeat!
