Greatness of the Glory

"Behold, the one half of the greatness... was not told me: for Thou exceedest the fame that I heard" (2 Chronicles 9:6).  "Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God" (Psalm 87:3).  "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter" (Proverbs 25:2).  "And I John saw the holy city... Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them... and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:2-4).

The greatness of the glory heard
In all that we shall soon behold
Exceeds the spoken, written Word;
The one half hasn't yet been told!

Whatever glory God conceals,
It is our royal honor here
To search and find what He reveals
About His glory drawing near.

That holy city that John saw
Unveils things beyond compare!
It fills our hearts with joy and awe
As we behold our Savior there.

The things above we shall not see
Are also  clearly listed here,
For God, with whom we'll ever be,
Shall wipe away then every tear.

We'll never see another die,
And sorrow then shall not remain.
We'll never hear a tearful cry,
And there shall nevermore be pain.

O Lord, we see the former things
Forever shall be passed away.
How joyfully this prospect brings
A yearning for that perfect day.

Until that day, Lord, help us show
The greatness of Your glory sent
In saving grace that You bestow
On all who truly will repent.
