Favor Forsaken

“Doth not wisdom cry? … Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD.  But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death” (Proverbs 8:1,35,36).  “They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy” (Jonah 2:8).  “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead”  (Acts 17:30,31).

The wisdom of God now proclaims
The way of salvation today.
The name above all other names
Is Jesus!  There’s no other way!

The souls who will trust in the Savior
Discover His infinite grace,
But many forsake their own favor
By turning their backs to His face.

How foolishly such have forsaken
The mercy that God would extend!
These mockers are greatly mistaken,
But they shall not mock in the end.

For then every tongue shall confess
That Jesus is Lord above all,
And mockers shall cry in distress
For having refused wisdom’s call!

Let God’s great commandment be heard
Who calls every soul to repent!
Since Jesus Christ rose, be assured:
Rebellion shall end with lament.

For Christ, the eternal “I Am,”
Shall sit on His great judgment throne.
He once came with grace as the Lamb,
But then shall His judgment be known.

O Lord, we consider Your pain
Endured when You died on the cross,
For thereby Your mercy we gain
That spares us from infinite loss!

We see, Lord, the insanity
Of those now forsaking Your love,
To hold to their false vanity
Instead of Your grace from above!

Lord, send us forth now to declare
That You are the One who can save,
For NOW is the time to prepare
BEFORE they have entered the grave!
