Still be Standing

“The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in Him” (Psalm 64:10).  “Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD.  But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death” (Proverbs 8:35,36).  “I will give them an heart to know Me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God” (Jeremiah 24:7).  “The great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:17). 

O who shall stand upon that day

When Jesus Christ returns to earth?
Our Savior showed the only way:
The soul that stands must have new birth. 

God searches us and knows us well;

He knows how stubborn we can be.
There is but one escape from hell
That saves the soul eternally. 

In Christ alone we find this favor;

By Him we must be born again.
Apart from Him there is no Savior
Who came to save the souls of men.

When He returns to earth to reign

And rule the nations with His rod,
The souls yet standing shall be plain: 
It shall be those who trust in God.

Until that day of judgment’s wrath,

We should be seeking to save some,
And show the lost their only path
Is found in Christ, who bids them come.

We thank You, Lord, that You provide

The way to be assured we’ll stand:
The hearts who know You shall abide
Secure forever in Your hand.
