Reasoning for Righteousness

“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death… The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:4,30).  “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18).  “Receive not the grace of God in vain.  For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:1,2).

Now come and let us reason well
That we may understand our path.
There is a road that leads to hell;
There is a way escaping wrath.

Our riches will not profit when
The wrath of God shall be outpoured.
The only thing that matters then
Is our relation with the Lord.

It’s time to come with open eyes
And reason with integrity.
The one who wins a soul is wise,
And reaps for all eternity.

The Lord extends the invitation
Before the coming day of sorrow.
TODAY God offers His salvation;
He speaks of NOW, not of tomorrow.

Now come, for all our sins were laid
On Christ who suffered on the cross,
And thus our ransom note was paid
To spare us from eternal loss!

We know that people make mistakes,
Yet there is ONE that ranks as WORST:
Our Savior suffered for our sakes;
The souls rejecting Him are cursed!

O Lord, we know there is a season
Your Spirit with our souls will plead,
And then You call on us to reason
To find the righteousness we need.

We thank You, Lord, and we confess,
We don’t deserve such wondrous grace,
That clothes us in Your righteousness
Before we see You face to face!

Lord, as we’re listening to You,
What gracious reasons You expound!
We’re praying now for others, too,
To seek You while You may be found.
