Light from the Lord

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous" (Psalm 112:4). "The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.... The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise" (Proverbs 12:5,15).

How great is the darkness of these latter days,
Yet light still arises from God in the night
For each one who trusts in the Lord and obeys
The Word of His counsel, which always is right.

The way to be right is to simply agree
With God who is Light in a world that is dark.
It's really no different than that which we see
In Noah's obedience when building the ark.

The thoughts of the righteous are therefore correct
Because they submit to God's gracious dominion.
The fool thinks he's right and will blindly reject
The counsel of God that reproves his opinion.

Lord, thank You for light that we surely do need
In this present darkness that fights against You.
Your Word lights the path where Your Spirit will lead
In all of Your ways, which are righteous and true.
